In 2005 Pat was invited to enter the Tasmanian fruit wine show and was able to scoop the awards with 4 gold,5 silver and 3 bronze medals.He then won the ultimate ‘best wine of the show’ award for his own midnight magic, a black sapote or chocolate pudding fruit port.Pat also won the ‘most successful professional winemaker’award thus firmly cementing Pacific Blue Winery’s Pat O’Brien as one of Australia’s most awarded winemakers.
Pat had previously taken out 2 gold medals at the prestigious Adelaide national amateur wine show and a swag of 7 medals,the following year, at the Cairns wine show.

In 2010 Pat has scooped the pool with 18 medals out of 20 exhibits at the Australian Fruit Wine Show in Tasmania and is again the Wine Maker of the Year for the third year running. This further demonstrates the superb quality of our products and our commitment to excellence.
